This course enables students to develop knowledge and skills related to computer hardware, operating systems, and robotics. Students will use utility and application software, and learn proper procedures and techniques for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems and networks. Students will develop an awareness of environmental and societal issues related to the use of computers, and will learn about apprenticeships and other employment opportunities in the field of computer technology that they may choose to pursue after graduation.
COURSE NOTE: TEJ3M1 and TEJ3E1- are similar courses and you will not receive credit for taking both.

This course examines computer systems and robotic devices. Students will assemble computers by installing and configuring appropriate hardware and software. Students will develop knowledge and skills in electronics, robotics, programming, and computers. This course has extensive coverage of robotic technology covering both the programming and design of both simple and complex robotic devices. Students will also develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will learn about college and university programs leading to careers in computer technology.

This course enables students to further develop their practical understanding of robotics, computer hardware/software and computer networks. In addition to demonstrating an understanding of the ethical use and environmental effects of computers, students will develop marketable skills and assess career opportunities in the field.

This course extends students’ understanding of computer systems and robotics technology. This course has extensive coverage of robotic technology, covering both the programming, design and building of both simple and complex robotic devices. Students will assemble computer networks by installing and configuring appropriate hardware and software. Students will be tasked with different problems that they will need to solve using robotic technology they have learnt. Students will examine related environmental and societal issues, and will explore post secondary pathways leading to careers in computer technology.
