Market Leader

[Ages 14+]

Each year, a group of students (“Market Leaders”) aged 14-19 interested in gaining food systems, business, and leadership experience work collaboratively to plan and run the Youth Food Market.

This role involves attending biweekly virtual and in-person meetings, monthly community field trips, independent and small group planning and weekly Market days from July-September.

Toy Library Assistant

[Ages 14+]

Volunteers clean and organize the toy collection once a week. The Pioneer Park Community Library is looking for individuals who can work independently, follow directions and communicate questions to staff.

Volunteers must be able to pay attention to detail, have strong organizational skills, and able to reach high shelves as some lifting and moving is involved.

Virtual Reading Buddy 

[Ages 16+]

Do you want to help other youth in your community? 

Virtual North Six Reading Buddies is an online guided reading program that engages and helps children in grades 1-6 improve their social and reading skills in a safe, fun, and friendly virtual environment.

As a virtual tutor you will be matched up with learners to engage in 1:1 guided e-reading facilitated through Zoom breakout rooms. During the last part of the session, the virtual tutors play games with the learners to further develop their literacy and social skills.

The spring 2024 program session runs from 4:30pm-5:45pm on Tuesday afternoons from May 14 until June 25 (7 weeks).
