Student Schedules will be available the week of Monday, August 31, 2026, through the ASPEN student portal
We understand that the beginning of a new school year can bring feelings of stress and anxiety for both students and families. Our guidance team is here to support you and help ensure a smooth and positive start.
One of the most common requests we receive at the start of the year is for course changes. To help manage and streamline the process, guidance teachers will not be taking online bookings. Instead, we ask students to follow the steps below to request course changes:
Course Changes
We require a blue Course Change Form signed by a parent/guardian for any course changes. Forms will be available for pickup in the Guidance Office starting September 8th.
Steps to Request a Course Change:
- Pick up a blue Course Change Form from the Guidance Office (Starting Sept. 8th)
- Fill it out completely and have it signed by a parent/guardian
- Return the signed form to the Guidance Office for review
- Once submitted, guidance staff will contact students by phone, email, or by calling them from class.
Please be patient—we will get to you! - Students are required to follow their current schedule until they have heard from their guidance counsellor. (This may take a day or two, so please be patient)
High Priority Changes Will Be Processed First
These include:
- Students in Grades 9–11 who do not have 8 courses on their timetable
- Students who failed a course last year and no longer meet the prerequisites for a scheduled course
- Grade 12 or Year 5 students who do not have enough credits to graduate (30 credits required)
- Level changes, such as moving from Academic to Applied
- Students missing a prerequisite course required for post-secondary admission
Requests We Cannot Accommodate
Please note that we are unable to process the following types of requests:
- Teacher preferences
- Requests to be in classes with friends
- Requests for a spare during a specific period
Deadline for Course Change Requests
All course change requests for Semester 1 courses must be submitted by September 15th at 2:30 PM. Late submissions will not be considered.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to support all students during this busy time.
