Attendance Procedure A parent or guardian is required to phone the school before 9:00 A.M. on the day of the absence to ensure accurate daily recording of attendance and the safety of students. For convenience, an answering machine is available for messages 24 hours per day (741-8542).
If a parent or guardian phones the school on the day of the absence the student will go directly to class upon return to school. An Admit slip is not required.
If no telephone call is received, a note signed by the parent must be brought to the Attendance Office for an Admit Slip before 8:15 a.m. for an Admit Slip before the student attends class.
Students on school property are expected to be in class. If it is necessary for a student to sign out during the school day, he/she must report to the Attendance Office before 8:15. A parental note or phone call stating the reason and time is required before the student may sign out.
Should an emergency situation arise or a student becomes ill, he or she reports to the Attendance Office and a parent is notified before leaving school.
TRUANCY = being absent from class without school approval.
