School Awards

 

All Merit Award applications are

due Friday, May 15th.


Print the form and hand in the hard copy in to Student Council after collecting the necessary signatures .

Awards for which students must be

Staff-nominated

(Students will be asked to submit supporting evidence toward the nomination.)

Note: students may only be nominated for a total of three (3) year end awards.

Ins​tructions for application

  • You must receive a signed and dated letter of nomination from a Resurrection staff member to be eligible for the four below awards. This reference letter is due at the above deadline and location. It is strongly recommend that if you receive a staff nomination, you complete the corresponding application below and submit it alongside the nomination letter at the above date. If you choose not to complete this application alongside the nomination letter, the likelihood of winning the award will be seriously compromised.
  • You should complete the application electronically. Responses must be typed in a legible sized font.
  • Adhere to the instructions listed on the application. Do not exceed the one (1) page maximum.
  • SAVE your completed application. Then, print the document and submit to SAC
  • The deadline and location/email for submission is listed above.


Note

If a student chooses not to complete this application, the likelihood of winning the award will be seriously compromised. A thorough a​nd complete record of a student’s contributions is necessary in order to make quality decisions for these major year end awards.

Sullivan Award

This award is given to an outstanding Grade 9 student based on academic achievement, extra-curricular participation at Resurrection, and other Resurrection accomplishments.

Spirit Award

This award is given to a student (grade 9-12) who has demonstrated school spirit at Resurrection, has a positive attitude toward the school community, and has stimulated support and enthusiasm for school activities.

Leadership Award

This award is given to a student (in grade 10, 11, or 12) who has shown outstanding leadership ability on a Resurrection club, team or activity, and has demonstrated positive management and human relations skills.

Student of the Year


This award is given to a senior student (in grade 11 or 12) who in his/her years at Resurrection has been an outstanding leader, has been highly involved in both school and community at large, and who best reflects the values and goals of our Catholic school community.

Awards for which students may self-nominate.

Staff may also submit student names for these awards. If this is the case, students will be asked to submit supporting evidence toward the nomination. These awards are open to students in all grades.

Note: students may only self nominate for one (1) award.

Citizenship Award

This award is given to a student who is an outstanding citizen at school AND in the community at large, participating in student government, school committees AND community groups of a civic nature. This student demonstrates a positive, responsible attitude as part of the commitment to civic service.

Humanitarian/Stewardship Award

This award is given to a student who has devoted time and energy in the support of non-profit organizations and causes both within the school community AND the community at large. This student is involved in helping those less fortunate, and his/her participation indicates a concern for the quality of life for all.

Wendy Rose Award

This award is given to a student who demonstrates a positive attitude toward life, despite obstacles that could halt a less determined person.

Michelle Risi Dream Award

This award is given to a student who best exhibits strong work ethic and determination to better him/ her self in pursuit of a dream.
